WHY IWITNESS CONSULTING?

Testifying in legal proceedings can be intimidating for both the inexperienced and the experienced witness. There are many reasons for this, but the overarching one is that the "rules" for testifying are counterintuitive as compared with those we learn for day-to-day communications or even for public speaking. 

     Our mission is to help counsel provide witnesses every opportunity to testify as effectively as they can, whether in the courtroom or during deposition. Witness preparation with a trial communications consultant complements the preparation efforts of counsel.

     As such, we invite you to think of our witness preparation work as a form of specialized communications training. We help the witness understand the "rules" of testimony and the practical meaning of the oath "to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth." Then, we employ a variety of behavioral exercises and techniques designed to increase witness confidence and to enhance his/her credibility in the eyes of the fact-finder.
